When have decisions come out in the past? I feel like I should know this, but I've read that they always come out on the 15th, and I've also read that they always come out on Fridays, and, unfortunately, both of these can't be true, so...

Also: Are you alerted before decisions come out of when they will be posted? Like, does Yale send an email saying that decisions will be up on the 15th, for example, or do they just spring it on you?

I’m wondering the same thing. When decisions come, do they send an email first that tells you or do you just have to log in to your account? I would really hate to have Gmail notifier tell me whether or not I got into Yale… :P

Okay, I believe I actually know the answer to that one, haha. They send you an email telling you that your decision is posted on your website, or something to that effect, and then you have to follow a link and probably log in.

I think they come out on the 15th unless that is over the weekend, in which case it will come out earlier. My year (I’m a sophomore now) it came out on the 14th, which was a friday, and I think last year they came out on the 15th, but i think in general it is the 15th. But closer in time they will update the admission website and you will know.
I don’t remember getting an email, but I don’t know for sure. I just logged onto the website the day decisions came out to get mine.

The 15th is generally the absolute last day they send out decisions. It happened to be the day they used last year, but I know that in years past, they’ve sent out decisions earlier (the friday before, perhaps). You’ll know closer to the date because I believe they update the website a couple weeks ahead of time with the precise day and time - so check back then.
