No merit or final financial aid for our S, who was accepted EA. We are in Southern California. I'm wondering if they're just not giving out merit aid to EAers this year. Or if EAers have already received it but are not part of the CC community so we don't know about it? Our intial financial aid award gave a $1,800 grant and a couple of loans... they just don't understand the California mortgage, I'm afraid. :(

momof2,
I am sure that your amazing inca will get some merit aid. It appears that EA applicants get their merit letter in the first week of April, but RD applicants get it with the acceptance letter. Go figure.
Did you get my pm's

I live in a suburb of Milwaukee, and am an EA applicant, and haven't heard anything. Not to sound pretentious, but I do expect an envelope b/c I'm a Nat'l Merit Finalist and selected Chicago as my first choice since they were the only school that offered any money to finalists. So who knows.

it seems many Ea applicants are in the same boat...interesting..it DOES make me wonder if possibly the adm person was incorrect in what she told me. There are soo many strong EA applicants from CC, it DOES seem odd.....probably just wishful thinking...SIGH

Hey Choco,
I did get your PMs and responded, did you get mine? My box was full for a while. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Meanwhile, we are looking into alternatives for S if no merit comes through at Chicago. Mainly looking at Berkeley since it looks like he could graduate in 3 years with a double major and have $ left for grad school. Still, it's awfully hard to let go of the Chicago dream for him.
