I skimmed over a number of the fora and it seems as if most of the ED/EA applicants have received their notices. There are definitely some late stragglers in the mail, but the majority seem to have gotten notification from the schools.

The kids on the Chicago forum are still waiting and pacing the floor. The decisions were apparently mailed yesterday. My son is waiting on EA Chicago. It's likely the decision won't reach Texas till early next week, which will make for a long weekend, especially since finals have just ended. Chicago is its own stubborn self (which is one reason my son loves them) so doesn't do online or phone notification.

I know that the Emory students are also still waiting. A couple have had "buttons" and "links" added to their Opus sites, and they are wondering what that means, if anything.

Just curious if there are any other schools out there with a 12/15 notification date where most of the students still haven't heard?

The Yale kids are still waiting...and waiting....and waiting. No definite time about the release of results, but the general opinion is that it will be sometime tonight.

That would be tough, especially seeing the results of Harvard go up with so many deferred. I hope you'll be able to access online and get the decisions quickly.

Lots and lots of EA schools are out but ,although rated as selective, they are not among the most selective of schools. D has Case, Centre, and Miami that will all be out in early to late January, or February first.

curmudgeon, sorry to highjack this thread but is your D applying to University of Miami or Miami University (of Ohio)? Just curious. Good luck to all of those who are still waiting.

Hang in there! As son waits, I often think about all the other seniors applying to Chicago who are also pacing the floor across the US and far beyond its borders.

curmudgeon -

Yes, many schools have later deadlines. Son has one that comes due early February. I was more curious about the ones with a December deadline. This is his first application -- he didn't do rolling admissions since he falls under the 10% rule at UT.

Good luck to you. That's the problem with mail around the holiday season. You never know when it's going to show up. Several people have said the EA's at Chicago come by courrier, but who knows? RD apparently was regular mail last year.

Good luck to everyone who is still pacing the floor!

Well, I'm afraid my DH and I will be pacing for another 36 hours waiting for Yale. My D left on a class fieldtrip this morning to a place without internet access and won't be home until Saturday midnight. Sure hope she's having fun!

I'm waiting one school with a Jan. 1 notification date and one with a Jan. 15 notification date (that is, if they decide to consider my app for EA).

Cami, I think that Chicago mailed today, not yesterday.

Vinco, don't worry--there's absolutely no reason to worry. Either way it's a done deal. Enjoy your weekend. You and Cami's S and my S can all rejoice together next week.

Everyone take a nice deep breath. Inhale..........................

No, they added a little note on the admissions website that apps were mailed on the 15th. Two students have now posted on the forum -- one accepted, one deferred.

And thanks for the good advice! My house is a mess, and I find cleaning up messes therapeutic so I will get at it this weekend while son chills out at the movies....

DD got her acceptance to Santa Clara yesterday. She also submitted an EA application to University of San Diego but they do not mail their EA decisions until the end of January. I thought that was pretty late for an EA decision!!

One of my employees is waiting for NYU ... she hopes that it'll be in the mailbox after work. I offered to let her go home for lunch ... but she declined. Too bad ... since we generally celebrate the kids' college acceptances with ice cream cake and I'm hungry this afternoon! Last year we had a Cornell ED acceptance (YAHOO!) and she's back here for the Xmas rush.

(It is a very busy day here in retail land and on Saturdays in December I buy lunch for all and we eat in the shop.)
