EA MIT, Chance ME! I return the favor

mia,
I don’t see a post by CalAlum. I agree that MIT is less interested in athletic recruits than the Ivies, and I also believe that there are development admits at MIT (and this is likely to become more prevalent, now that the endowment is way down and because of all the cutbacks). I doubt that coaches have much influence in the Admissions Office.

Djokovic, I have two question for you:

For the Science Bowl, were you on the National + Regional winning team all four years of high school? were you ever the captian?

What were your AIME/USAMO scores?

I posted the text of an email from Matt on the subject of athletic recruitment here.

Does anyone know how much an Athletic letter of support from the MIT Coach to admissions improve an applicants chances of admission into MIT? This would assume the applicant has competitive grades and test scores.

kicksave, see my post above yours with the quote from Matt McGann – letters of support from MIT coaches are useful, as are other indicators that you’re excellent at something, but do not guarantee an acceptance, even for very highly qualified candidates.

Djokovic slam? :)
