D received a merit award totalling $14K/year! Still need a lot of financial aid to come through, but this is exciting!

I am curious if it is possible to negotiate with the school for additional merit money. As mentioned above, DS received the $10k Centennial award. His grades this year have improved and I would like to see if the school would consider more to aid our decision…thoughts anyone?

bltkmt-- I don’t know anything about Denver’s policy but it doesn’t hurt to ask. For my D’s 1st choice school they matched the merit aid of her second choice school. I never would have thought to ask that, but a friend suggested it was worth checking. We sent a copy of the 2nd schools merit offer to verify. This was several years ago and a different school, but you never know

My first kid got her merit scholarship doubled after emailing a copy of her first semester senior year grades to a school! This was back in 2010. Very possible and it never hurts to ask.

Parent of a Class of 2018 applicant and just home from our DU visit… anxious for that email! We were impressed.

so in reviewing these posts, looks like we may hear Monday EA? Any news yet? :)

That is what I was thinking too! I can’t wait!

7 pm Mountain time according to another thread tonight
