EA versus Regular Decision

Hi, I'm currently starting the college application process, and right now my first choice is DePaul University. I haven't exactly had a spectacular high school academic career, but my grades right now are pretty good. Anyway, I was planning on applying early action, but my counselor told me it may be better to apply early, but still pick the regular decision option so they can see my progress through this semester and part of next. Is this a good idea?

I would definitely recommend you go with our Early Action program. It’s non-binding and gives you priority consideration for merit-based scholarships and guarantees you a decision by Jan. 15 as long as your application is post-marked Nov. 15.

We will look at your grade trends from across the 3 years worth of grades you will be able to submit at that point. A final official transcript will be required anyways so we will be aware of your progress over your senior year. It’s only a beneficial to you to go early action.

Woah, if that guy is for real, that’s pretty sweet an admissions rep was the first to answer that question…

Dayum you are luckyyy

lol, that is awesome. Thanks so much.
