Hi, I am a high school senior applying in-state to UVA Engineering and am having a dilemma between applying EA or Regular decision. I know that EA is not easier and it is mainly for students who feel they do not need the extra time to improve their application. I had got a 4.1 my freshman year, 3.7 my sophomore year, and 4.4 my junior year. I do not feel like I am in the middle of a rebound(junior year was my rebound); however, my cumulative GPA is still around 4.1 which is below the accepted average from my high school. I would love to know earlier and apply early action however I am not sure if it is better to wait and send my first semester senior grades. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you,
If you know that you will be consistent with your grades this year it seems like doing RD would be most beneficial. Not that you wouldn’t get in EA but if GPA is your weakest element it only makes sense to do what you can to improve that element.
