Hi, I am a high school senior applying in-state to UVA Engineering and am having a dilemma between applying EA or Regular decision. I know that EA is not easier and it is mainly for students who feel they do not need the extra time to improve their application. I had got a 4.1 my freshman year, 3.7 my sophomore year, and 4.4 my junior year. I do not feel like I am in the middle of a rebound(junior year was my rebound); however, my cumulative GPA is still around 4.1 which is below the accepted average from my high school. I would love to know earlier and apply early action however I am not sure if it is better to wait and send my first semester senior grades. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you,
If you did go ahead and apply EA you can always have your counselor fax a copy of your grades in even at the quarter if you get a report card then. My son was getting all As with a really tough schedule so we did do that. No idea if it helped or even got there on time but UVA doesn’t give decisions until January and we had quarter grades sent to them by mid-November.
