EA vs SCEA

Hello everybody, I'm planning on applying to Tulane in the fall. I'm pretty sure that it is my number 1 school, however I'm having problems deciding whether or not to apply EA or SCEA. I'm just afraid that by applying single choice, and if I don't get in, i'll box myself out of other good colleges that having higher acceptance rates early action. So long story short, is there a significant advantage in admissions at Tulane to apply SCEA rather than just EA?

bumppppppppppppp

you may want to ask on Tulane threads. Some schools (James Madison comes to mind) are much more difficult EA. All schools will be better rates for ED (guessing this is what the SCEA translates to?), so that would make Tulane easier to be admitted. It’s a tough call. You really have to be sure that’s where you want to attend if you apply ED. Give it a lot of thought this entire summer. Visit more schools just to confirm your sense of making such a decision. ED is a great option for some though. It just has to be the exact right circumstances (finances & first choice/dream school).

Unlike ED, SCEA is not binding but Tulane doesn’t allow SCEA applicants to apply to any other schools ED or EA. You can apply to rolling admit schools, though.

Which schools have rolling admissions? Can’t seem to find a definitive answer on any post. Would be good to have in one place which schools have EA, SCEA, rolling admissions, etc.

You can apply EA to Tulane and won’t get “boxed in”. Also, the earlier you apply to Tulane, the earlier you hear. In that sense they are “rolling”.
