I was wondering if anyone else applied to Dickinson EA. I heard that the letters could be sent as soon as tomorrow. Good luck!

I applied EA and received my letter today. I live REALLY close to Carlisle, though- so you might get yours tomorrow or Monday

Wow I'm really excited to check my mail today!!!!

If you got in, did your letter come with financial aid? Or do you happen to know when that comes in?

I got the letter...and I got in! I think u'll be getting ur financial aid seperately. yay! good luck to everyone

I'm in NJ and got the letter today.

I got mine yesterday and my financial aid was included :)

Mine came with info on the merit-based (scholarships) aid I received, but I didn't qualify for any need-based, so I'm not sure whether or not it would include more info if you did qualify? Or if it would come later...

Anyone pretty certain they'll be at D'Son come August?

Yeah, I qualified and it told me my total financial aid package

Yeah I got in ED and all my FA stuff came with the letter in the BIG red envelope.

Congratulations you guys :D
I apply ED II and hope to get the result by the Valentine's Day.Hope I can enjoy the 2/14 ;)

I have a question: did Dickinson meet your full financial need?

Yes they did, and I'm so glad that they did :-)

So in what case will you NOT attend Dickinson, please? ;)

I applied EA as well, but got deferred into the RD pool....I found out that they probably would have accepted me if they had received my good ACT scores a few days earlier >_< But I still have a good chance.

Also, the admissions officer for my region said that Dson received an insane amount of apps from females this year (like, a 7:1/8:1 f:m ratio) so it's probably more competitive for us girls.

Anyways, I just have to wait a little bit longer, but I'm revisiting Carlisle to do an overnight over Feb. break...hopefully that will help me decide if I could see myself there.

What do you think would be a decent SAT score for Dickinson? I got 560 on CR and worry a lot about that. (Dickinson has nicely waived the need for TOEFL ;))

It depends on your overall score. A 560 is below the median range (600-700), but they certainly take lower than their median, and will probably take into consideration the fact that you had to critically interpret something with which many native english speakers have difficulty. I'd say that if math and writing were good, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Such a low CR score of mine was caused by poor vocabulary only.I missed like 10 sentence completion questions on the last test date.:(
By the way,my writing and math scores are 720 and 800 respectively. Are those scores good enough?

Yes, the definitely are. You said on the last test date, did you take your SATs another time with a higher CR score? Because they use combined score, meaning they look at your SAT scores, and take the higest Cr, W, and M score, regardless of which test each one came from, and use that as your overall score.

How sad it is that the test date for which I got the best-prepared was the one with the hardest sentence completion questions.Therefore,560 is my highest CR score ever.
Dickinson waived the TOEFL score for me due to my SAT score, but I've realized that my CR score is about the lowest 10% compared with the batch of students getting admitted last year.

HiLine... dont worry too much! I've got the same CR score as you and my writing score is also 560 but I got into Kenyon College.

I think schools like Dickinson and Kenyon look more on your personality, characters and you level of interest when making their decision. Think of the "best fit". And good luck to you! Dickinson College is a great school, would have applied there if I have been deferred by Kenyon. :p They have sent me a nice folder with all the stuffs inside.
