<p>Hey Boss, I was told that parents of cadre are allowed aboard for a one week trip. That sounds fabulous. I hope that you get the chance to sail on the Eagle yourself.</p>
<p>When we toured the ship in Newport and talked to the swabs - it seems that they thought we might have been cadre parents and were sorta cautious with us. I was amazed how quickly they learned the info at their tour posts. At that point they had been aboard only a few hours. </p>
<p>We didn't get to meet the new captain, tho. I took a bunch of pictures of a guy who looked similar to him and later found out it was the OOD. :)</p>
<p>Ha ha funny stuff...yeah I would like that trip myself...we'll see...and I am also amazed about the swabs giving "tours." They become very salty very quick I guess. As far as the captain I hear he's cool. Usually you can figure out who the captain is by the "scrambled eggs" on his hat.</p>
<p>Very cool. I gotta say it: The Capt is cool because he's FROM SC. ;) And I gotta wonder.... Who's kid is more salty. Mine or Boss'. Wonder how I can get my kid to be a Cadre at GC. If it gets me on the ship, I'm willing to throw him out there.</p>
