Early Action 2023 Case Notification

I’m sooooo nervous :frowning:

@Kona2012 Being on the other side of the country, visiting is next to impossible. They sent the admin director, but he only visited 2 schools and we never received an email he was in town. (Get emails for everything else!) We requested an interview, and never heard from them. I called 2x, and emailed, but never received a reply. A neighbor is a CWRU alum and offered to do the interview, but was refused. It’s nuts. If he gets in, he’ll be the first from his school. I’m hopeful, but not counting on it .

Hi Good morning everyone,

It looks like we will wait for 1 or 2 more days. I have a question. Does CWRU always contact the admitted student for financial aid information before they release the decision. If so that could be a sign that I will be rejected because I was not contacted by CWRU so far.

My guess is that it is a positive sign if you are contacted by financial aid right before the notification deadline because it shows they are likely working up numbers for you. I can’t imagine they would spend the time to do that if they weren’t going to make an offer.

However, we were contacted because they had a question. So, I do not think it’s a negative sign if they didn’t contact you. They may be making you an offer too, and they just don’t need to clarify any information with you.

@vamon4, thank you for the explanation. That makes sense.

We got an email back in November about whether we were submitting for need based aid as we hadn’t completed the CSS. We submitted the FAFSA and our number came back higher then the cost to attend CWRU so we changed the application. Haven’t heard anything more from CW.

@Kona2012 Good gosh why would he need to do APs if he is doing 4 HL classes?

@bopper LOL I meant leading up to IB DP classes. He only took a total of 2 AP classes in high school. However, I guess his transcript does show rigor. Right now he is wishing he never chose HL Math. it wasn’t bad Junior year, he managed to maintain an A, but this year is very difficult. He had an 89 1st marking period and does at least two hours of homework/studying/practice every night.

What time is it supposed to come out

Case admissions office says not to expect decisions tonight, but probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Do you think it’s possible to combine this thread with the other EA Case thread? I don’t know how to do it, and since they’re basically the exact same, it makes sense to consolidate it instead of having two separate threads with info. Anyone know how? Thanks!!

they just sent out an email

Too excited for the case email tonight!!!1!1!!

I spoke too soon lol…

“Yesterday I wrote to you regarding our intention to release admission decisions later this evening for candidates who applied under the Early Action and Early Decision admission plans.

Unfortunately, we find that we need a little more time to be absolutely sure applicants’ decisions, scholarships and financial aid packages are correct.

We are therefore rescheduling decision release for Early Action and Early Decision admission until 8 p.m. Eastern Thursday, December 20. At that time, applicants will receive an email providing a link to the secure webpage with their admission status. Students who have submitted the FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE also will be able to see an estimated financial aid package online.” (Email from case @ 6:10 pm)

@noodles123

ikr… it’s quite exciting waiting sooooooooo long

Everyone, I apologize for the inconveniences that have been associated with the applications this year. I am just as nervous and excited as the rest of you to hear my admissions decision. Unfortunately, a mishap at my high school involving a student being categorized as a felon on his transcript has caused all of this ruckus. I believe issues have been resolved at this point, and therefore I believe that admissions will be sending out their final email tonight with links to our portals! Good luck to all.
