I sent my Early Action application to Chapel Hill in October and now I'm dying to know if I got in or not. It's my number one school that I'm applying to and I'm so nervous to receive my answer. I was wondering how everyone else deals with the stress of waiting for a response.

I live in Lisbon, Portugal and do the IB so my school work is a constant distraction from my anxiety....but any advice on how to prepare myself for the final answer?

Also, does anyone know the date that Chapel Hill normally responds to early action applicants?

I cannot wait until January either!! UNC is one of my top choices, I wish they sent out decisions around now considering the application was due so long ago

Thank you! I knew it was sometime in January but I wasn’t sure when exactly…I know, this wait feels like it’s going to take forever especially when most other colleges are sending out acceptances this month :(

UNC promises to have their decisions by the end of January and they do not waiver from that message. I suppose they want to under promise & over deliver by beating that date. Last year, the EA decisions were mailed the week of January 16th. My student received the “Big Envelope” on Thursday, 1/19. UNC posted decisions to the prospective students’ “MyCarolina” accounts on Friday, 1/20.

My son applied EA to UNC as an OOS student. I think it’s somewhat frustrating that they ask for the application by October 15 (2 weeks earlier than anyone else) and that the response is 6 weeks after EA or ED decisions are released. He also applied EA to Michaigan and Boston College (accepted at both), but the wait was a lot shorter. Well, no use in complaining as it isn’t going to move up the notification date.

I’m also oos and unc is my top choice! Ironically I also just got into Michigan and bc honors program physcodad! I’m so nervous to hear from unc bc I want to go there so much and even oos it’s pretty reasonably priced…I just wish we could’ve found out with the other early schools this past week

agree with all. Just sent my BC app in, traveling too much with debate and 4 AP classes that I just could not get all the essays done. Basically applied to many EA and some do not notify us until Feb! UNC is my top choice too.

I can’t wait! I didn’t mind the wait at all until this past week whenever everyone started hearing back from other Early Action schools. A month seems like forever away!

To have such an early application deadline, their decision release date is soooo late… so frustrating and nerve-wracking. Oh well, I’m expecting a rejection anyway lol.
