Congrats!!!

they send out both acceptance and rejection letters and even conditional acceptance letters

Deferred, but just happy it isn’t a denial.

Son was 27 ACT and 4.1 WTD GPA. Deferred. I think having visited the school and summer camp there helped not being flat out rejected.

I was accepted with the Second Century scholarship. Got the letter today in AZ.

SAT: 2270, Reading: 800, Math: 740, Writing: 730
GPA: 4.7W, 4.0UW
Rank: 3/623
National Merit Semifinalist

I’m really excited, as this is one of my top choices, but am hoping more scholarship money comes my way.
I did visit the campus, and absolutely loved it.

Accepted EA with Second Century

SAT: 2090/1490
GPA: 4.3w 3.6 uw (not entirely sure if accurate)
Top 20%

I was just wondering if all the decision letters have a sentence about the essay. I found it really nice compared to a completely form letter.

Ours included a sentence about the essay too. Beautiful package.

Same! They personalize every letter! Congratulations to everyone!!!

Does anyone know the percentage of accepted students from the pool of those deferred? And, if a student is deferred, is there still a chance for scholarship awards?

Still haven’t gotten anything. I’m getting a little concerned. I live in maryland so I know the mail is slow but it’s been a while

We are in the Dallas metroplex and have not received anything yet. It’s difficult to wait…

Did anyone else get the “Warm Wishes from SMU” email? It’s the first digital confirmation of admission I’ve seen.

If you haven’t received anything yet and you applied EA or ED it seems perfectly reasonable to reach out to the admissions office to clarify the situation and to confirm whether a decision was sent and when.

^^Son received the “Warm Wishes” email early this morning.

Called our admission counselor today and she is out of the office until 1/2. Upside is that my son received the congratulations, happy holiday email this morning! Makes for a Merry Christmas!!

Absolutely!! I would be shocked if you are not asked to interview. 80 interviewed my sons year, 27 received offers for PS.

Yes they do, look on line for Spring visits

Hannabanna-I’m surprised as well. I know it’s cliche-but you all wind up where you belong. I’m sure you will be accepted somewhere fabulous where you can shine! Fabulous stats, hate that so much weight is on a 4 hr test!

Ilovemath-would be shocked if not asked to interview for PS!! Best of luck!!

Thanks!
