Early Action/Decision Class of 2019

I’m 85% sure NU forgot California is a state :frowning: never gonna get my decision.
Can someone screenshot what the page will look like after the decision is made?

Accepted NJ! 2190 SAT 4.13/4.5 GP

Deferred, 1840 SAT, 95 GPA, 9 APs, strong subject test scores, very strong extracurriculars

I’m from Long Island, NY and got my decision at 4:19 this afternoon

NY Accepted into Northeastern College of Science!

SAT: 2190
GPA UW: About 3.4 (89 on a 100 scale)

Deferred! 3.5/4 UWGPA, 3.7/4.5 WGPA, 2050 SAT (690/670/690), applying for Music Industry. I was expecting total rejection, so this is a welcome surprise :)

Still nothing.

Surprised to see so many deferrals of extremely qualified people, though… the girl from my school who went last year had stats a little lower than mine (and also never visited or anything like myself lol) and got in full scholarship

NJ at 5:06: Deferred.
QPA 85
SAT 2040
5 APs

Deferred. 2120 SAT 4.2 GPA. Dammit

same lol

A couple of things:

1) do not read anything into these deferral people! It’s a strategy used by NU to make themselves seem tough to get into. NU is an excellent school but it is also a business and they love to make themselves feel tougher and more competitive than they really are. So please if you get deferred, they is a very good chance that you will get accepted under RD. So don’t despair.
2) NU is need-aware meaning that very good students needing FA will most likely be deferred. NU is notorious for accepting lower qualified students but who are full pay. So again, do not get a deferral to your head. Please do not let this affect you. If you need FA and are deferred, work on demonstrating interest up until March.
3) There are no rejections now. Only acceptances or deferrals.
4) If you are deferred, again for the zillionth time do not let this affect you (try) and work on demonstrating your interest to the school immediately.
