Early Action/Decision Class of 2019

@caligirl67 I got a 30k per year scholarship and the requirements were simply to maintain a 3.0 GPA and because it is for being a National Hispanic Scholar I have to do 30 hours of community service per semester but I don’t think that is standard for every scholarship.

So in the beginning of my college application process, I wanted to go into journalism. Because northeastern was one of my first schools I applied to, I applied and got accepted into the school of media and design. However, I’ve decided now that I actually want to study math. Will I be able to switch schools if I wanted to? Like when I get there can I just start in math in a different school or will I have to spend a semester or two in the media school before I can switch since I was actually accepted into that specific school?

@chloesophia‌ You can request a major (and subsequent college) change through your myNEU account. I had the same thing happen to me…I was admitted to the College of Science for physics but then decided I wanted to pursue economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. I just submitted the request online and they got back to me in about a week and said it was approved.

^ this is one of the reasons D may choose NEU. Terrific, focused schools and programs but a freshman is not locked in. Schools that made switching a matter of applying over again or transferring were dropped from her list.

Does anyone know if decisions for RD are rolling?

Decisions are not rolling. NEU does release top applicant acceptances early, then the rest on the posted date.

Does that mean the rest of us won’t be hearing a decision until the end of march?

Got accepted on 10th Feb… Applied 3rd December… Maybe they have started releasing decisions.(. International applicant) :smiley:

I got accepted on Feb. 10th too through regular decision! I assume its a good sign if you get accepted early?

@raiderrunner2015‌ good sign for what? We already got accepted… Did you get any scholarship notification?

By accepted do you mean you received a likely letter? Or did your portal change to an acceptance letter? @iliveinmumbai‌

@justinn76‌ accepted letter…

Does anyone else have a problem in creating an admitted student portal? (International applicant)

Deferred :frowning:

Oh crap! I’m sorry I put this in the wrong thread! Please delete these two posts!
