When do Early Action Decisions come out? Also, can you chance me?

On their website, it says that EA applicants will be notified by December 31, but does anyone (maybe from past experience) no when this decision usually comes out?

Also, i would appreciate if you let me know what my chances were for acceptance:

GPA: UW: 3.52 Cumulative (3.0 Freshman year, 3.66 Sophomore year, 3.9 Junior Year so big upward trend)
take all AP/Honor throughout high school except for math and spanish

SAT: 2320 superscore. 800 CR, 800 W, 720 Math
SAT Subject: 760 Literature, 780 US History
Ap: 5's in Psych, Lit and Comp, US History

AP Scholar, National Hispanic Merit, National Merit Commended

EC's: Swimming(competitive, but nothing major), Windsurfing, counselor at a summer camp, volunteer/charity work in Brazil every summer for years.
I'm worried my lack of Extracurriculars is going to kill my chances. What do you think?

In the past, there were no ED applicants. They only offered EA and regular decision. They say the EA applicants will get the word on the 31st. I suspect that it might be slightly earlier , but since this is the first year of ED applicants , there is no point of reference

Also, will being hispanic improve my chances?

Based on past admissions cycles, EA results will likely come out on 12/18. My guess is that ED results will come out on 12/11. That is only a guess.

What has been constant in the past is that on the morning of decision release day if you try and log into the portal you will get the message that the system is down for maintenance. Decisions will then be released starting at 3 PM and continuing until 9 PM.

@TomSrOfBoston‌ thank you for the input on both of my posts… do you think Northeastern seems like a likely match for me in terms of stats? What would you say about my chances?

Most likely

On the website, it says that we will receive the decision BY the 31st. So does that imply that it might be out before then?

What I posted above is based on observing past results posted here on CC. The 12/31 date is a safety valve in case there is a system issue in the Admissions office.

Northeastern would be lucky to have you! Good luck!!!

It depends somewhat on how Northeastern weights things. Your SAT is awesome, and in the past people have said they focus a lot on scores. In ED, though, I saw someone got accepted with a 1930 or 1960 SAT, while someone with over 2000 got rejected. There’s a lot going into the decision. Your GPA is a potential sore spot, but the upward trend is better than a flat 3.5 through high school. Don’t downplay your ECs - international volunteering and a commitment to a sport aren’t bad!

My guess is that you’ll get in, but in the past they have liked to defer a lot of EA people to RD. I doubt they’d outright reject you at this stage. (I always hedge my bets because I don’t want to get someone’s hopes up or crush their hopes. Because really, none of us know.)

Can someone chance me?
