does MIT go by admit/deny/defer? if you get denied can u still apply again under regular admissions?

Yes, MIT does either admit, defer, or deny you with its EA decision.

You cannot apply again under regular admissions if you get denied, in the same year at least.

And most people do get deferred.

In recent years, MIT has accepted about 13% of EA applicants, denied about 15%, and deferred the rest.

what would cause them to deny?

^yea, how bad do u have to be for them to deny?

It's not really "how bad", it's just that they don't think you will be competitive with the regular action applicant pool. So I guess it depends on all the applicants, not just you.
