*Early Action Test Scores* Interpretation Needed

As quoted from the ND website,"If a student applies Early and then takes a standardized test in either November or December, there is no guarantee that we will receive those scores in time to consider them along with the rest of a student’s application. We should receive standardized test scores for tests administered in October. Students should plan accordingly."

I understand this to mean that if I apply EA then ND will receive my test scores from the October test dates to consider with my application ...cool... however, should I get deferred to regular admissions, will the university update my application with my November and December test scores or will they continue to review my scores from the October sitting and all sittings prior to October?

All help is appreciated.

It has been my understanding that they will welcome additional material of whatever kind should you be deferred. I would double check, but this has been my understanding over the last year.

Hawk’s absolutely right. I have a friend who was deferred EA, and she was advised to send in any new material–test scores, first semester grades, updated resume, etc.–to update her file and support her case for admission. So, if you were hypothetically deferred in December, and decided to retake the SAT in January and ended up doing better, ND would then take a look at your January scores.

Hope that helps. Best of luck!

Perfect. Now I will definitely be applying early action.
Thanks!
