Can someone please explain applying early action to me- in terms of financial aid, offer acceptance deadlines, etc. Thanks!

EA deadlines vary, but they are generally around Nov 1. Check the websites for the colleges you are interested in for exact dates.

Like the admissions applications, schools also have early deadlines for FA. Since financial information is submitted early, before the end of the tax year, it will be estimates. Therefore, your FA package will be tentative and subject to adjustments when final FA information is provided; so the closer the estimate, the closer to the final FA package you will receive.

For EA (not ED), acceptance deadlines are the same as for RD applicants, about May 1.

Some EA schools are SC (single choice) EA, meaning you can only apply to that school EA; for regular EA schools, you can have multiple EA applications. SCEA schools sometimes permit you to apply to rolling application schools, for early scholarships, etc. I cannot emphasize this too much: you need to go to the websites of schools to find out their specific EA/SCEA policies.
