<p>OOS in Florida, No mail from UNC :(</p>
<p>I did essay #3, chocolate chips. Remind me of football, football reminds me of family, but I wrote it in a very lax style, a lot of humor, very narrative.</p>
<p>I did the NYTimes essay. Talked about how I was the youngest person to travel to every country in the world and set up a company in several global cities, including Chapel Hill. I applied to Kenan-Flager as an International Business/finance major btw.</p>
<p>Considering where you applied, that sounds like a really good essay. I’m an intended bio major and wanted to go on to med school. I could have said my comfort food was human brain lol</p>
<p>I’m an intended chem major. In also want to go to med school!</p>
<p>I want to study political science. I chose the NY Times essay, and I wrote about successfully suing to gain minors the right to vote and I outlined my constitutional argument lol.</p>
<p>Will it be posted at 430??</p>
<p>No one knows</p>
<p>I doubt it’s today! No signs of it</p>
<p>on the blog that is *</p>
<p>1 more hour…maybe</p>
<p>hopefully…</p>
<p>LFKJDSFLjfklsd ugh waiting</p>
<p>Greetings:</p>
<p>First off: Hang in there, I know the wait is excruciating.</p>
<p>Secondly, having lived through this last year, here are some observations:
- Over the past several years, online notifications have been posted late on Friday (to avoid fielding calls immediately, I assume) about the third week of January.
- Last year, that date was 1/20. Not all notifications made it up on the Connect Carolina on that day. Some trickled out through the weekend.
- Letters were mailed earlier in the week. We received mail (USPS) notification on Thursday 1/19 and are located in NC, about a 3 hr. drive from CH.
- On Thursday, 1/19, The Admissions Blog had a post titled “Update on Decisions - Thank you for your patience… We know how anxious you have been… To prepare, here are the steps to view decisions when they are available…” and then proceeded to give some instructions how to access the information using various browsers, etc.
- This Friday is two calendar days earlier than last year due to normal progression plus leap year (1/18/13 vs. 1/20/12). This may be the unlucky year when decisions move out a week.
- Last year, there was some precise and accurate scuttle on this site that decisions were on their way by Tuesday.</p>
<p>Finally, my opinion is that the decisions will be published next week. I sure hope that I am wrong!!</p>
<p>just called, no decisions today :(</p>
<p>Someone call admissions and ask. I just tried and got no answer</p>
<p>Just kidding then</p>
<p>Aw :(</p>
<p>They would never tell you via call lol.</p>
<p>This should seriously be considered as a legitimate form of torture.</p>
