Help! I am thinking of waiving my senior year as I am running out of classes to take next year. I know that Columbia and Barnard both offer Early Admission.

What other colleges also offer Early Admission?

Bard college at Simon’s Rock

I have never understood why people want to skip their senior year, which is literally your funnest year.

If you’re senior year class choices are limited to AP art, AP psych, and AP envirosci, it would make sense to forgo senior year. You may say: “Why don’t you just take classes online or at a CC?” True, but then why not just enroll in college?

Stanford may.

Senior year is not “your funnest year” when you take a full AP/IB schedule, don’t have early release because of that despite being a senior, and you are stressing out about college admissions on top of having a job and ECs!

Senior year is the “funnest year”? My high school is so BORING! Trust me, I am missing nothing by skipping senior year. I highly doubt I will have more fun here in high school than in new york city (if I go to Columbia). Plus, the AP teachers are incompetent and I won’t learn anything in those classes, so I might as well start college now. I’m thinking about doing a md-phd program, which are generally 8 years long, so this is definitely a good idea for me to skip a year.

It is rather sad that a lot of people in here only care about classes and grades in regards to Senior year.

Ever here about friends and Graduation parties?

Maybe I am the only one in CC who actually goes outside.

Okay, so I’m also trying to get away from my high school and everything about it, including the people. I have a lot of friends, but we could always visit each other. Who cares about Graduation parties when there’s college parties to go to? Besides, I would definitely not miss any of that if I was in NYC having the best time of my life.

Me entire high school is pretty much incompetent (which is pretty huge, ~700 kids in my class alone) so I agree with MyBlsflHrt…

You’re missing out on tons of EC opportunities if you skip senior year.

advanced lawlz brings up a good point. In my 2nd semester senior year, I joined two more clubs and made the varsity team for something I was never really that into before. Within one three week span, I went from my home (midwest) to CA, back home, then to Augusta Georgia, back home, then to Fairfax Virginia, all for EC stuff. After which was my graduation. So solid times. I really got to relax and expirement a bit.

But I’m not sure that’s worth wasting a year of school, the potential to be in college, and future earnings.

basic lawlz: the OP can get into colleges as a junior and then take a gap year. Or maybe take the gap year then apply to colleges. Not sure which would be better, but that is another good option.

I bet the majority of colleges offer early admission if you just apply.
