[The Brown Daily Herald - Early applicant pool grows for Class of 2014](http://www.browndailyherald.com/early-applicant-pool-grows-for-class-of-2014-1.2112435)

“Early applications to Brown are up 21 percent from last year, according to Jim Miller ’73, dean of admission. They numbered over 2,850 at the Nov. 1 deadline, he said, up from 2,343 last year.”

"Applications to the Program in Liberal Medical Education were up 35 percent over last year, Miller said. "

well that sucks

Noooo. I did not need/want to know that at all…just stresses me out more. :/

Ouch. Tough break.

Uggggh, ■■■.

good grief… and only a few hundred ED’s will get in, God help us.

Hoooooooooooooooly crap.

well that makes me want to cry. cool.

Nooo!!! This can’t be happening :(

this just made my day even worse… :(

If someone could tell me that “up” was a typo and that the writer meant “down,” my anxiety over the next 10 days would remain at a managable below panic-attack level instead of the pants-fouling level it would reach if I heard that my chances just decreased even further.

ahhh tell me about it…

Sorry I ruined your day. I’ve actually known this for a few weeks and was waiting for it to be in the BDH.

F&Rain: how did you know? Thought you’re an alum and interview kids. Are you also in admissions? (Just curious, not meant anymore than that.)

I don’t work in admissions, limabeans. But I have my sources.

“but I have my sources…”

Sounds so mysterious! But, in fact, the president of the university was including the increase in early decision applications as part of her prepared talk to large groups of alumni and parents several weeks ago.

Applications overall look like they’re going to be way up this year again.

Always leave 'em guessing. I just want to remain as anonymous as possible.

And I also heard that admissions is projecting another increase in applications.

High school students want to be around Emma Watson

Yes, I want my college experience to be exactly like “Where’s waldo” and “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego”
