Brown ED Statistics

Brown University received a slightly smaller number of Early Decision applications this year than it did in 2005, the Brown Daily Herald reports.

2,317 people applied to Brown under its binding Early Decision deadline for fall 2007 admissions, marking a 2.6 per cent decrease from last year’s ED applicant pool of 2,378.

Brown accepted 22.9 per cent of its 2005-2006 ED applicants, compared to 13.8 per cent of its overall applicant pool. Brown’s Early Decision program is binding, meaning that ED applicants promise in advance to attend Brown if they are accepted.

reaaaaaaalllly???? omg i'm sooo happy kkkk

Haha that's certainly comforting for ED applicants...but not really, when you think about it and still keep it in perspective.

THAT MEANS THEY HAVE TO TAKE MORE PEOPLE, RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT???

ahhh please.... hahaha

that's great :)

but to drag myself back to reality -- yale's ed pool dropped last year, but the ed acceptance rate stayed constant.

interesting, do you guys think that brown is going to lock in a greater percentage of males for the early decision round because of the lack of males applying? and does anyone know how many of those early applicants are females and males?

yeah it depends on the quality of the pool and not the quantity.
I think next year will see a significant increase in ED applicants due to Princeton dropping their ED program.

whats the source/link for this statistic?

Did you guys read the comment about the "declining desirability of Brown"?

Isn't a 2.6% decrease pretty negligible?

Eh, whatever. :) I agree with the quality over quantity statement made above.

heh, hopefully there was 61 person decline in ED PLME applications ;)

or hopefully only 10 ppl applied plme ed this year.

lmao AGREE to the PLME statements above
god i dont even know why i bothered...but i did
i read the admission stats for it and i was like what the ****

someone help me feel better and tell me that theyre in the same boat as me and know for sure that theyre not getting into PLME
