I have the option of taking classes at a community college or a local state university. The university has a discount for early college students, so both options cost about the same. The state school is half an hour away while the community college is in my town. It seems that Community College credits don’t always transfer, so would it be a better idea to commute to the university and take classes there a few times a week?
If it is just for precalculus (a low level math course from a college point of view), and you will subsequently take calculus, then the transfer credit may not be that important. But, either way, you will have to report or send transcripts from whichever school you take the course at to future colleges or graduate/professional schools that you apply to.
What year are you in? What class would you be taking? IS the 4-year college well-known in your region?
Community College. No need to travel an hour and a half away. As an early college student you will most likely be taking cores, intro classes etc.
