Early Decision Class of 2019!

I keeping seeing posts on the old ED thread from last year so I thought I'd start one for the Class of 2019. Happy to say that I received my acceptance letter in yesterday's mail, which also happened to be my 18th birthday! Talk about a great present! I live in the Rochester area, so perhaps that's why it arrived so quick.

Hope everyone hears good news soon!

Oh, and my info came via regular mail (not Fedex, etc…) and on MyRoc acct is still showing Step 4.

Did you get an email beforehand?

I didn’t get the email until today at nearly 5pm.

My son got his acceptance on Friday via FedEx. He’s very excited.

Congratulations to your son!

Congratulations to those accepted ED! If you have a minute, could you post some stats and your intended major? Also, when you received your acceptances, did they include merit award information? D applied regular decision (GEAR program) so we have a long wait ahead… Rochester is a huge favorite!!

Does anyone know when those accepted ED will hear about financial aid? I believe I read somewhere it was approximately a week, and today is a week from when the acceptance was received. Also - how will the notification occur – via email, MyRoc account, or snail mail?

D got her merit aid info today, with financial aid (if any) to follow in a couple of days.

were you happy with the amount?

Yes, we are. It’s approximately half of the tuition bill, which makes Rochester not too much more expensive than our state flagship.

Congratulations, @ellieMom!!

I applied EDII and I’ve been on step 4 for the longest time… I was hoping Id hear by the end of January. Anyone have news on ED2 yet???

Same here. Son applied ED2 MyRoc has been on stage 4 for a month…no word yet!

ED2 letters went out yesterday FYI.

How did you find out about the EDII letters?

A batch of ED2 letter were mailed on Monday. Another batch is being mailed out Thursday or Friday. (This information was verified by an admissions counselor from U of R). Good luck everyone!

To all applicants, I wish you all the best. I am going to U of R in August. I was lucky enough to pick up the RENS scholarship and as a token of appreciation, I would like to help out with any queries you have regarding U of R or the application process as I was in your position about 2 months ago. I am an International Student, an African to be precise.

Got my letter today and I’m in… see y’all in the fall

Does anyone know how soon after acceptance financial aid packages go out?
