Hey all, thanks in advance for help.
I would really love to go to NU, it's my first option (and, to be honest, U of Washington and maybe some other in-state school are my only other options). So why not do ED? The financial commitment. If the financial aid isn't helpful enough, we simply won't be able to comfortably afford it.
Does regular decision hurt my chances that bad? Would it help if I sent it in the next few weeks, so while not binding still showing some commitment? Should I explain this in my application? Or could they care less?

No.

Thanks. Also, for the teacher recommendations, I gave one to my french teacher that attended NU, though my strongest class is math. Should I give one to my math teacher as well, or are two recs not helpful at all?

I would also have your math teacher do one, if that's your strongest class and she/he indicates that it would be a good one.
