Early Decision for Transfers?

Most schools I've looked at don't offer Early Decision for transfers (and only Chicago has offered Early Action, even if you don't REALLY receive that decision very early ;) ) but I was checking out Bates College and I believe they do offer Early Decision for transfers...which is odd.

Any other colleges yall know of that do that?

i know of some, but you wouldn't be interested in them brand.. haha.
they're mostly lower ranked public schools.

lol well that clears that up

What're early decision and early action?
=/

Early decision means you get to apply early and find out early...and it also shows that you're very interested in the school. So interested in fact that if you're accepted you are forced to attend and pay the tuition even if they offer you crap for financial aid. So it's binding, usually has a higher admit rate, and is good if you really love a school.

Bates is cool, but I'm not putting all my cookies in one basket.

Early action just means you get to show that you are a bit more interested in the school than regular applicants and you find out early. It's not binding in any way, so I kind of don't get the point of it sometimes, but oh well.

So for ED if you are accepted you have to go to that school?

that's right...the only way you can get out of it is if you can prove that you can't afford the school...which is difficult.

where is there info about this bates early decision thing? i can't find anything about it on their website.

I think I misread it...looked like ED was offered for transfers, but I don't think it is. It was just the way the page was setup.
