Early Decision I Class of 2016!

[Admissions sees fewer EDI applications | Middlebury Campus](http://www.middleburycampus.com/node/506)

I’ve seen that one. Don’t think it says anything about this year’s acceptance rate?

260 spots 640 applicants
41%

yeah swaggertrain got it

oh duh. awkward hahaha

Cool song. I’ve been listening to a lot of Coldplay lately. They really calm me down and relieve the anxiety leading up to Saturday! My favorite song of theirs is old, you’ve probably heard it - [Coldplay - The Scientist - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube) - but the lyrics get me thinking about graduation and then I get all mopey and depressed haha but still some great music.

41 percent. 2.5 days. Hoooooly crap.

wait but it’s probably 41% all together, like for both rounds of ED

Nah ED2 is like 20% or something, almost the same as RD. I read that a few places

oh wow, then the odds are in our favor!

Definitely! Hey I was wondering what schools you guys would apply to if Midd doesn’t work out? I’ve got 7 other schools lined up to send my apps to on Common App. Trinity, Colby, Bowdoin, Providence, Holy Cross, Hamilton, and St. Lawrence…how bout you??

PAbiker: My college advisor told me that she thought it could only help my application, and she’s a pretty incredible and fantastic advisor so I trust her. I knew I just wanted to take time off, but I wasn’t sure if a whole year was right for me. So it was kinda perfect… Just a little worried about arriving late haha (or arriving at all…)

Good luck everyone!

My portal is down again. Same with anyone else?

mine works

Ya I’ve also heard ED2 is a much lower admit rate than ED1 (cause they are comparing u with all the ivy leave rejects coming in RD)

Kids (and hopefully, MIDD kids). As you count the hours to “the big moment” take some time to count your blessings. In the next 48 hours or so, there will be births and deaths, good and bad prognoses delivered, love found and love lost…you catch my drift: life changing events. This IS a big day for you, but the range of outcomes is tilted in your favor. If you’re bright enough to think about applying to Midd, then surely your medium term outcome will be, at worst, probably an 8.5 out of 10.

So if you “make it”, count your blessings and if you don’t, count them too. One way or the other you will have earned your way to an exceptional education here or elsewhere. Be elated, be disappointed but don’t be discouraged. You, each of you, has the capacity and therefore the responsibility to change the world for the better, to improve lives beyond your own. So take these hours and be a little self centric, you have earned it. But let the dust settle quickly, and move on…your college and your world…your unique opportunities and experiences await.

May all of your dreams come true.

Hey all good luck
any international applicants?

Thanks for that insight @badaro

What did you mean by 8.5/10?

anyone with with a SAT score within this range? 1900-2020?

i’m only slightly above… i’m awful at standardized testing

Standardized tests especially the SAT dont test anything in particular. There is a large variation in the Test Scores. I got a 1990 and I am an international applicant and on top of that ive applied for financial aid.And Middlebury changed its need blind policy in 2009 for International students,it is now need aware. So I guess i know what to expect the day after tomorrow.
