Early Decision II

Hello, I would really appreciate some help on this.

I was recently denied Early Decision I admission by my top choice college, Bowdoin (not deferred - rejected). I would now like to do Early Decision II at my second choice school, but the stupid CommonApp isn't letting me! When I try to click "Early Decision II" under the section "Future Plans", I get the message:

System Message: Please correct the errors listed below.

Term You have already selected early decision for "Bowdoin College"

I can't remove Bowdoin, but I want to do EDII, and it's not letting me! Please help!!!!!

How can I apply ED to another school or EDII?
You may certainly apply EDII (or REA) to a second school if you weren't admitted to your first ED school. Select RD on the Common App, and ED II (or REA) on the college's supplement before submitting. That college will then consider you an ED II candidate in their pool.

If the supplement has no option for ED or EDII (or there is no supplement for that school), you will need to explain your intent in the additional information section of the application and still select RD on the application itself.

That's how you do it.

Thank you, but I already saw that.
I used my additional info section for something else, and cannot edit it because I already submitted the CommonApp. And I already have the max number of alternate versions (I'm crazy, I know).

bump must know sooooon!

bump 10char ahhhhhhh

Sorry MosheA, the answer I gave you is the answer to your problem. You might try contacting the college you're applying to and ask them how to handle it. Perhaps sending them a paper copy of an ED agreement would suffice. But you need to get in touch with them.

Have you tried creating a new application. When you do that it copies over the information from the first one by duplicating it. It also allows you to edit the information.

Send a trouble ticket to Common Ap, explain the situation, and ask them to reset your new school to EDII or tell you how to do it.
