Hi, I am an international high school student attending a private high school located in New England.

I am a junior right now (class of 2013), and I am also planning on applying Early Decision for Columbia University next year.

I was wondering if you guys could share some thoughts about my plan/application.

SATs: haven't taken those yet. (expecting 2250~2350 range)

GPA: 4.08/4.30 (about 5th in class, approximately top 2%)

APs: AP Modern European History, AP Language and Composition, AP US History, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Chinese, AP Literature, AP Physics B, AP Economics, AP Comparative Government and Politics
(10 AP classes + Calculus3 at a local college)

SAT2s: planning on taking Math2, Chemistry and US History

EC:
Outdoor Club (10,11,12) (president)
Model United Nations (9,10,11,12) (been to many national conferences)
Jazz Band (9,10,11,12)
School Musicals and Improvisation (9,10,11,12)
Math Team (9,10,11,12)

I am also an intern columnist at an online newspaper company. I get paid 50 dollars per page. I write about politics, economy, ecology, and culture. (I might get to publish those as a book and possibly win a prize with some scholarship)
I also published essays in English(second language) and Chinese (third language) on my school's literary magazine.

I participate in Habitat for Humanity (about 400 hours so far) (during school year, I participate in the American Habitat for Humanity. During summer, I participate in the Habitat for Humanity organization in my country)

I have participated in a community service trip to low income areas in New York City. (and also wrote an essay about the urban poor on the newspaper)

I am also planning on doing an internship at an unpaid investment firm/bank over the summer.

I would like to pursue a career in economics, and I liked New York when I visited there. Being an international student, I thought New York City was an authentic microcosm of the world. I think Columbia is the right college for me.

Early Decision for Columbia, any chance?
Thanks
