My daughter applied ED. Any one know how Bowdoin will notify her of their decision – mail, website, etc.?

Notification of ED decisions has been provided by mail in the past . .

[Here’s a link to an article nn the Bowdoin student newspaper that provides more detail on the number of ED applicants this year, etc.](http://orient.bowdoin.edu/orient/article.php?date=2010-11-19§ion=1&id=1).

Thanks for the info and link. Interesting article. Good news, my daughter will hear back sooner than we expected, bad news, looks like more ED applications for maybe fewer spots. Will have to get a hold of that turkey wishbone and make a wish!

Good link, torasee! Thanks for putting it up.

oh my god that article! so stressed!!!

I know! I’m so nervous! I’m probably finding out on my birthday!!! :O

If past is prologue, you might start getting the news a week from this Saturday. IIRC, Bowdoin has been dropping ED decisions into the mail (using regular mail, I believe) on about the second Thursday in December.

Another article in today’s Bowdoin’s Orient about the ED applicant pool. The article also states that Admissions hopes to begin sending out acceptance letters by next Friday.

I wonder why Bowdoin doesn’t use email to notify us. I know that this year Amherst will be emailing applicants about their acceptance the day they mail out the acceptance letters. Has anyone ever contacted them to verify how we are going to be notified?

In the past, Bowdoin has used the mail . . .

As an international applicant, I hope that mail is not the only notification method as I could be waiting for a while for the letter to arrive in Australia!

IIRC, Bowdoin notifies internationals by e-mail.

i actually can’t stop thinking about this.

me neither cuppycake! (notice the speedy reply, hah) 8 more days, maybe?

THE WAIT IS KILLING ME…what’s even worse imo is that if bowdoin only uses mail for ppl in the states then ill be so stressed out on the 10th knowing that they’ve already made their decisions and im just waiting for the letter to come in

AH YES!
and then thinking when i open the mailbox “wow hey that’s a small envelope…” I hope we all get in so so so so so badly!!! eeek! I’m guessing the mail will get there monday the 13th…

I recall someone saying last year that the acceptance envelopes were surprisingly small . .

the wait for the decisions notification is killing me and yet, I’m sure I won’t be able to open the email/letter when it arrives. AHH!

I have often read what others have written on this site but never felt compelled to add anything myself. Just wanted to say I am in the same boat as the rest of you - ahh to be a part of a very nervous and hopeful little community - and I wish you all the best of luck (deep breaths guys (and girls) all will be all right - the wait is almost over).

The EDII acceptance S received last Feb.was in an envelope about 10"x13", large enough to hold the folder of acceptance-related documents, but not terribly thick. It was pretty obvious it was an acceptance as there was no need for bad news to be in an envelope that size. Good luck to those of you waiting to hear!
