thebigcheese121 - so sorry it wasn’t the outcome you had hoped for. Good luck with the rest of your applications. There must be something better in store for you!

Anyone know what the Oberlin acceptance envelope looks like? Big? Little? Would a rejection come in a big envelope? Anything written on it – Ithaca’s had something like, “Something big is about to happen!”

I think the conventional wisdom is that a big envelope is a good thing. They have to send you paperwork with an acceptance that would not be necessary with a rejection. So, if you are holding a big envelope and are afraid to open it, go for it!!! And let us know what happens!! Good luck!!!

Big is generally better. Good luck everyone. Oberlin is a wonderful school.

Big but thin. All it contains is the letter of acceptance, a reply card and an envelope. Good luck!

College ED decisions are sent via regular mail (with emails to international applicants only), and were mailed Monday. Conservatory EA decisions don’t go through my office, so I’m not sure what their exact mail date is or if they send emails.

We are in Oklahoma City and daughter received her acceptance letter today! The envelope was big, but thin. I’m sure our letter carrier is glad she won’t be stalked anymore!

Congratulations!!! Did your daughter apply to the conservatory or to the college? We still have no word from the conservatory here, although s passed his prescreens at MSM and CCM so at least that is good news.

She applied to the College.

Thank you for the information. Good luck to her!

I have applied to Oberlin as an International ED1 applicant and on their website, the notification of admission’s date is stated to be December 15th.

However, I have not receive any email from them about the decision date, on account of which I sent them an email inquiring about it (on 14th December, i.e, a day before the state date of notification). This email is yet to be answered as well.

It’s 16th December, around 10:33pm in Ohio right now.

When can I expect an email from them? Is it possible that they’re post mailing me the notification letter instead? Is it possible that since 15th December was a Sunday, it may be the reason for this delay?

Thank you all in advance, your help will be much appreciated!

I called them up, apparently, I’ll find out by the end of today.
