I second lynda's question.

Answering lynda and audioslave: Yes you should if it's your first choice. If your second term junior grades are a little below the rest of your grades, maybe you'll be deferred, but it's really good to show such a strong interest by applying ED.

If your school does midterm grades, you send senior year midterm grades to Columbia for the ED round, too. So if this term's grades aren't as good, do well for the first midterm of senior year and send those grades in the fall.

If you don't send the senior year fall grades if you're waiting for them to improve, Columbia will ask you for them. If you expect they'll improve more after the first midterm of senior year or after November 1, ask your college counseling office to send your transcript but NOT those grades right away. THEN, when Columbia ASKS for the beginning of senior year grades when they haven't received them, your grades might have improved by then and your college counseling office will send your current grades, requesting that your teachers provide them with updated averages. It all works out for your benefit. That way if you have a B+ by late October or early November but think you can get it up to an A by mid to late November, ask your college counselor to hold back your senior year grades for a short time. When you bring it up to an A or when you improve as much as you can by mid November, then send your current senior year grades.
