Can I still apply early decision to Amherst if I am planning to take an SAT subject test in November? (I am taking the SAT for the 3rd time in October, and I have only taken one SAT II-USH-740) Also, I’m planning to take both Literature and Spanish with listening. The deadline for ED is Nov. 15, and I know that SAT Scores usually are posted about a week after that. However, the Amherst website says that “Testing should be completed by the deadline under which you apply”. So does that mean if I take the test BY the deadline, I can still apply?

Presumably, yes, though it wouldn’t hurt to check with the Amherst admissions department. They were always kind and helpful when I dealt with them.

As the previous poster noted, don’t guess. Call Admissions and they will give you a straight, immediate answer. It’s worth it and they are very helpful/

Thank you both for your advice, I will make sure to call admissions ASAP

I think you should be okay, I applied ED last year and I turned in my second teacher recommendation a few weeks late and I got in. I did notify the admissions office that my teacher would not be able to complete it in time. If I were you I would call and speak to someone.
