Early Decision

Has anyone heard anything yet?

my friends applied, their (they are twins) mom sent an email out to an admissions rep and got a reply saying they should get the letter late this week or early next week… and we live in NJ too (obviously)

Thanks! Do you know when they applied? My d applied November 1 but her first semester transcripts and counselor recommendation didn’t arrive until Nov. 23rd, much to her dismay. :|

they applied somewhat similar to how your daughter did, commonapp in on oct 29 but i think they were complete sooner than that probably around the 15th or so.

I am waiting anxiously too! I heard late this week they would be sent out… nothing in the mail today- I live in NJ too! Please post if anyone gets a letter or has any more information.

does anyone know how they send the letters? Is it regular USPS or fedex…?

3 years ago my son got his letter via regular mail. I doubt the college would pay for Fedex.

thats what i figured…I just really really want my letter

one of my classmates got his acceptance today…

do you live in NJ?..

and do you know when he applied? or anything else…

“The Early Decision process at Lafayette is completed on a rolling basis. The review of ED applications submitted prior to November 1 will begin in early November, with the first round of decisions being mailed by December 1. Normally students will learn of their decision within 30 days of their applications becoming complete. It is necessary to submit first marking period grades in order to complete an ED application.”

So since my daughter’s application wasn’t “complete” until Nov 23rd (the day first marking period grades arrived) even though she applied Nov 1, sounds like she shouldn’t expect to hear anything much before 12/23. Ugh! Do some high schools send first MP grades before November 1st? That seems really early in the year, but I guess it depends when you start. Here we begin school after Labor Day. I’m curious when others first MP grades were sent…

if anybody gets a letter please post what state you live in and when you received it! Also, does anyone know what the envelope looks like, for acceptance vs. denial etc?

nj mom – First marking period grades at our local high school (in NYS) were sent out on November 3. A friend’s son in Massachusetts got his first MP grades on November 6. So, yes, it varies and some do come out pretty close to November 1.

nj_mom: I have about the same issue as you (didn’t have application complete till nov 24), so is it really a full month later that the acceptance/rejection letter will come in? Plus, if you apply ED would it be in your best interests to have an interview?

I heard late this week, early next week too…for me at least. I know its rolling so it might not be the same for every ED. I’m waiting for the mail today!

yes I live in NJ…
and the classmate had all his materials in around november 6th

So I guess the 30 day response from when everything is in, is pretty accurate.

correctomundo… i really hope my friends get in… will be very devastating if they dont

got in today!!
