Early Fall Start

I was wondering about the Early Fall Start program. The website has all the information from last year, but I haven't heard anything about 2010 EFS. Does anyone knows dates and how to sign up? Also, could someone give me a review of the entire thing? What class(es) did you take, what did you think, where did you stay, was it worth it, etc.? Details would be very appreciated :)

I’m pretty sure the deadline passed.

^ The deadline hasn’t passed moron, you can sign up for EFS right up to a week before it starts.

DO EFS, believe me you won’t regret it. I literally met 90% of my current friends doing EFS it was great. Class four days a week 9:30-12. Get the rest of the day to go do whatever you want. I was literally drunk 6 nights a week because during this time Frats were still rushing, so us guys could just walk straight into their parties. Also the classes are easy for the most part. I took a class on the Photography or something, had to write a couple essays no big deal, ended up with a 3.8, most of my friends got 4.0’s in their class. I seriously can’t recommend this enough. We often refer to EFS as the good ol days, when everyone was social everyone had their doors open ect… , we could get into parties,I must have hooked up with at least 10 girls during these four weeks. awesome

I am sorry for giving incorrect info. But your comments were for sure helpful!

Can you only take one class? Or are there different classes you can take at different times?

I think you can take one class, or supposed to take only one class.
Anyone signing up for it? I’m not sure if I should do it yet

Where can I find the official website for the upcoming early fall start program-not 2009’s.

I signed up for EFS when I was signing up for the residential halls…
brief information about EFS is on the housing application website, but it’s not very detailed.

Anyone know if you can still do fall start if you didn’t sign up for EFS in your housing application?

Is the EFC housing application like the application for regular 2010-2011 dorms? What I’m trying to say is, will I have no fees to pay if I cancel before July 1, 2010, if I change my mind??

Hey everyone, just thought I’d bump the thread because we can register for EFS now!
[Early Fall Start](<a href=“Early Fall Start | University of Washington”>Early Fall Start | University of Washington)

In case anyone was wondering about the college writing professors, I googled each of their names, and all of them are listed as teaching assistants except for Melanie Hernandez.

Here’s her review on ratemyprof.com:
[Melanie Hernandez - University of Washington - RateMyProfessors.com](Melanie Hernandez at University of Washington | Rate My Professors)

And the other’s contact info is listed on this page: http://depts.washington.edu/engl/people/dir.php?s=ta</a></p>

So because of the review and because she’s the only professor, I signed up for Hernandez, 108E : )

Thanks, akirischan!

blueman: I’m pretty sure you can but you won’t have the housing meaning you’d have to live off-campus or something along those lines.

I am also debating whether to do a college writing course or a digital art course. Does anyone know if the courses provided in EFS are also provided during the actual school year? I am interested in Digital art but my current major is Computer Engineering and its possible I might change it to digital art if I am good enough or I like it enough. On the other hand, I know how essential it is to have good writing skills in college. Anybody who has taken EFS already and perhaps taken one or the other, I would appreciate your advice. Or if anyone has opinions that works too. Thanks guys.

Hey akirischan, thanks for the info. I also registered for melanie hernandez ENGL 108 E, because of her great review. But when I checked my MyUW account, It says that I registered for ENGL 108 B, Raj Chetty. Idk, did this happen to u also? I think Melanie Hernandez’s class is full or idk if i should change my registration.

Hi, for freshmen, do u register for classes in the fall, if so then u cant register yet right??

Thanks anyone

For EFS, do u live in the room that your going to live for the rest of the year.?

for EFS where do u live, do u live int he dorm ur going to live in in fall?

If you’re doing EFS, you will be living in Lander Hall.
But if you requested specific dorms for fall (ie. pre-health floor, business floor, honor floor,…) you may have to move after EFS.

hmm… that sucks, my first choice is Haggett,

Yeah I have to move after EFS too. my first choice is Terry =(
