yay! get in, and I’m crossing my fingers for merit scholarship coming… thanks UR!

Shaq - we can’t give you an admissions decision over the phone, but we can definitely clarify if you are an EN or a Regular Decision applicant. Feel free to give us a call at 585-275-3221.

Got in as well. I thought the personalized acceptance letters were really nice.

Mr. Socash,

Will any of the merit scholarships be dependent upon a national merit finalist naming U of R his or her first choice of schools? If so, which scholarships are so dependent, and how much would they award? - Thanks.

baywood - if you name U of R as your first choice school as a National Merit Finalist, you will be awarded the Wilder Scholarship (17,000 per year for all 4 years). You need to make the decision before the end of May in order to receive the scholarship.

I am assuming that this Wilder scholarship replaces any merit money you may have already received as opposed to an addition to.

The University of Rochester will only award 1 merit scholarship (if any). There is no “scholarship stacking”. If it looks like you are in contention for two different awards, you will always receive the award with the higher value, never both.

There is no limit in the number of national, regional, and local community scholarships that you can apply for. (Better to start earlier than later.)

My S was received his acceptance letter yesterday. Very excited as its been his #1 school since his jr year. I know this is being picky, but we were somewhat dissappointed by the letter itself as we read so many great stories on this board about how personal they seemed to be - referencing specific details from either their interview, essay, etc. Our was nothing more than a form letter. Again, very happy (overwhelmed to be exact), but we all were interested in what stuck out about him through his many visits, interview and/or essay…

Seems like I was way too nervous… received my acceptance letter today! Still strange how applicants from California got their decisions before me in New York. I will never understand how the postal system works!

What date was your acceptance letter posted (Shaq395)?
Im from New Jersey…

Shaq! So happy for you…I have been following your angst filled quest on this thread and am thrilled you were admitted! Maybe my daughter will be so lucky (RD in March). Congratulations!!!

Thank you very much! Haha looking back on it, I was freaking out way too much, but I really love Rochester and I am so glad to be accepted.

Can you please tell me about he NYUPOLY 100k scholarship. I wan to go there but cant afford it. Thanls

dharmajblackman, please post this in the NYU or Financial Aid forums. This forum is for the University of Rochester, not NYU.
