<p>There's this program at my school called the Early Scholars Program. </p>
<p>Through this you take A.P. classes online and through the T.V. There's quite a few classes there to take, but they have left out a few A.P. classes. It says that if you take enough classes you can skip a semester of college. This one person though (I don't know him personally, but he wrote a Scholarship Book I am reading) who took some A.P. classes and skipped a year at Harvard. </p>
<p>I don't understand it. How could this be possible? Would you skip a semester or a year?</p>
<p>I think he's talking about advanced standing. Basically, you need to have 4 full credit courses with AP scores of 5. If I understand it correctly, this is the only way that Harvard will give you credit for AP scores. With advanced standing, it is definitely prossible to get a BA in three years, and then use the fourth for a Masters. Here's a link to Harvard's site on advanced standing:</p>
