Skipping a year in Ivy League School using AP credits?

So is it even possible to skip a year of undergraduate in Harvard or any other top/ivy league school using AP Credits and summer courses? I am just wondering if these schools allow that.

From what I've read, Harvard has a three-year program if you have enough AP credits. It's called "Advanced Standing."

<a href="http://www.fas.harvard.edu/%7Efdo/publications/advancedstanding0607/%5B/url%5D">http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~fdo/publications/advancedstanding0607/</a></p>

I think this is possible. Then again, I would want 4 years in Harvard. The whole shebang.

Yeah, I heard at the Harvard meeting that a very small proportion of the kids who could take it, use it. Lots of kids in Harvard could take it, but VERY VERY FEW TAKE IT. I'd take the full 4 years, but I have not been accepted to Harvard yet crosses fingers but I will be able to take advanced standing, and I'm about 90% sure I won't. Just because I want to learn as much as I can while there, if I do go there.

yea, im sure most people who go to Harvard could get advanced standing, but why would you want to miss out on a year of college, esp. Harvard???

(1) you have the option to take a semester (or 2) off and work on the project/s you really really like and still graduate with your class. The project could be on or off campus.
(2) you have the option to take post graduate level classes early

Back in the day, most of the kids I knew who took advanced standing stayed a fourth year, got a masters and graduated with their friends. I was eligible, but didn't take it as I hadn't a clue what I wanted to major in. And you had to declare as a sophomore.
