<p>so.. every time I log onto Common app and try to select a school, a notification pops up and says that admission for so and so school is closed. I think its because admission hasn't started for class of 2013. Am I overachieving and starting to early? I want to get a head start because i still have to do two other online courses and AP Japanese, study for SAT, ACT, cheer camp, job, track, and homework all before summer ends and be able to apply for early admission.</p>
<p>I don’t think it’ll be up until August or so.</p>
<p>You are very smart to try to get on top of this over the summer. The supplements for each school vary, but on the main Common App form there will be some things you could be working on now:</p>
<p>1) a list of your ECs with time commitments and dates; last year’s applicants were asked to write a paragraph on their most important or meaningful one.</p>
<p>2) the Common App essay. If I recall correctly in addition to a special prompt for the year’s application there is usually also a more generic option to write about some experience that has affected you in some way. You could at least draft some ideas so you have them.</p>
<p>You could also start a spreadsheet of the schools you plan to apply to, with columns for admission dates, fees, whether they want SAT or ACT scores, when you submitted your application, and so on. </p>
<p>We did all of this last summer and it really helped my son be able to enjoy his senior year.</p>
