Earth Science Degree - Pathway to maximum Income

I'm looking at doing a Earth science degree at university, I am currently in my final year at school and this area of study interests me hugely. I have also heard that there is opportunity to earn a large income in this field specifically in Canada (<a href="http://www.earthsciencescanada.com/careers/how-much-can-i-make.php">http://www.earthsciencescanada.com/careers/how-much-can-i-make.php</a>) I was wondering what degrees I should look to take in order to have the highest income revenue in the future. I'm considering doing a double major in an earth science degree and Geophysics or just to focus onto earth science. What are the best universities for my area of interest and what companies should I be looking to work for? The key parts that interest me are the actual field of study, the income and the travel that would come with this.

I think an opportunity for good money (or so the nice people at TAMU told me) is advising big industry in their environmental screw ups. For that, I would look into environmental geosciences (which I believe is Earth Science)/environmental chemistry.
