easiest business major

im currently in stern for undergrand business and plan to go to law school afterwords so i guess i would not really be using my business degree. i was plannig on majoring in finance but since i will not be using my business degree i figure i might as well just major in the easiest business major to have a higher gpa for law school. can anyone help?

business administration

Finance and CPA accounting are tough at Stern. I wouldn't be surprised if others were just like it, but I heard that Management and Organization as well as Marketing were less rigorous.

yes, except they are completely useless concentrations in business major.

i agree with the above statement. they dont give you the kind of skills that can be utilized in the real business environment. marketing...management...you can learn that on your own through extracurriculars!

You could learn finance through extracurriculars too, it just depends what you do for fun. I wouldn't go as far as saying that marketing is useless.

For you gpa I would agree about marketing and management though. At Stern the finance classes are rough.

And the stern curve's going to kill you.

Not to hijack the thread, but why would the Business Management degree be worthless? I thought that the Management degree would be relatively versatile in the business world.

The OP intends to go to law school, in which case undergraduate major doesn't really matter. Pre-law doesn't really consider the career in mind, unless it's a backup for law school. If you want a higher GPA, sometimes you have to go for something "useless." Even then, I wouldn't say that marketing and management are useless.

this is a funny topic.

is anything hard in business?

^what do you study and where do you go to school?

Management is the easiest, ignore ABC he's a dumb child that has a horrible GPA in engineering and just makes excuses.

You should be looking at majors that will help enhance your skills relavant to law school rather than looking for "easy" majors.

In your case, regardless of what you major in; minor in English so as to help you develop and build your rhetoric. This will help you quite a bit in law school.

If possible, major in English.

agree with vj.
I don't know why you are in Stern if you don't plan on doing anything "business" in the future. I mean, it looks like your primary goal is the law school.

Although people who major in Business sometimes do go to law school, they're most likely to want to learn about the law while having their career primarily as business/finance.

However, I don't think that is the case for you. Good communication/language skill is utmost important for law school, so I advise you to major something else besides the business. Maybe Journalism or Communications. Or as vj has said, English.
