Skitt's Law.

* “i point out grammar flaws mid-argument, buddy.”

gomestar, i pounded you in the BC/Cornell thread by throwing your own words back at you, and i can do it again here. however, i don't feel like it. all i am going to say is this:

"TIP: for transfers, admissions tends to prefer somebody whose set on a goal as there's really..."

"whose to say they don't tell people to save $80 in application fees upon recieving transcripts."

two ERRORS in the same thread - don't even say the "whose" are typos. the "recieving" might be a typo, but who knows with you.

you are someone whose posts are always grammatically incorrect. thus, you are received as a fraud. *

Where’s the substantive argument here, all I see is wining.

*"as it shouldn’t be on a public forum"

should I intentionally write incorrectly? *

Don’t pick and choose things to quote, keep things together with the full intent of the phrase there. If you read what I stated before hand you would understand this. I said “You understood what he trying to say even if it wasn’t grammatically correct” , so since grammar is a tool for clarity and you understand him, then it becomes a waste of time in an informal context. I never said grammar should never be used. Stop making gross generalizations with bits and pieces of a whole.

*"Grammar is just a device"

oh, okay, so it doesn't mean anything. it only applies in certain situations. is that how the law works, too?*
Hmm. . . the law is situation specific too. Say I kill someone in an attempt to protect myself (ie. Self-defense), I don’t get charged with murder but if I kill a person with intent I get charged with murder. Both times someone kills another yet in both, the situation matters as to whether you face charges. Bad analogy buddy.

Regardless grammar and law are two different entities.
Also I feel the need to add the cliche “the world isn’t black in white”. There are times when grammar must be used to perfection and a spectrum of everything in-between.

"wasting time and using correct grammar."
if you screw it up here, chances are you'll miss something when writing a piece that counts. it’s not a waste of time.

Maybe you will but im not feeble minded like you.

* "correct grammar doesn’t have to be used and isn’t expected to be used" /i

Have you ever typed on AIM or FB before or do you not have friends (wouldn’t surprise me). These aforementioned are just like a public forum people aren’t expected to write grammatically correct. . . its common sense (hence comp speak: IMO, LOL, BRB etc...). Ask people on these forum if they think their expected or would take the time to write everything grammatically correct. You lack common sense.

a lot of you spent a year or two in a community college, so...

gomestar, i could really continue to defend my position but it's just a waste of my time because i can't match your wit
i am interested in the hotel school.. i can imagine that it does incorporate business, and international relations. i also would be interested in working in another country thus another language. the problem is that nobody can run into you unsure of themselves which i largely am. i really don't know what my college plans are. of course, i'm interested in the internal transfer at cornell, who isn't? you're right though, if i were to apply to human eco it wouldn't be genuine. i think there are much worse people out there than me when it comes to this sort of thing and it is fact you are way to aggressive in discussing cornell. you may know alot about the school but i really don't care because you are not the type of person that one could seek positive help from and i think you know that.

*"a lot of you spent a year or two in a community college, so..." *

Atleast they dont go to a school founded by people who rape lil boys

"you are not the type of person that one could seek positive help from and i think you know that."
I will fight bad information with vengence and in turn I will offend many. Don't confuse this with unwillingness to help others, I handle many many PM's for students seeking advice.

"i am interested in the hotel school"
here's a legit tip - an overwhelming number of successful hotel school freshmen and transfers have work experience in either the hospitality or restuarant (and entertainment) business. Experience is valued highly, the school seems to put things like SATs aside for the students with legit work experience. The same goes for ILR, though not quite as much.

"i also would be interested in working in another country thus another language."
then I'd be a little careful about which college you shoot for at Cornell. Maintaining a language is easy (my case), but learning a whole new language may require some tough schedule spacing that may not be afforded to you in just any college at Cornell.

"you are way to aggressive in discussing cornell."
my time is valuable, I usually just cut right to the chase. I'm at work right now, actually.

If one must focus on another poster's grammar, they must not have anything significant to contribute.

It follows that if one has something significant to contribute, they will not focus on another poster's grammar.

lol thank you

lol I'm learning.

UCLA is almost impossible to transfer into oos

For the record, gomestar has helped me and given me a lot of information...I cross-reference all the advice I get on these threads and his stuff always checks out.

slipper-
What do you mean that those schools are transfer-friendly? I'm interested in transfering to those schools. Are you basing this on facts? Also, do you know how they look upon applicants that were rejected as freshmen?

bump please....

are those grammer stuff really alot of bad?

What the hl is the crack on community college all about? I'm a former community college student and I'm pretty dn proud of myself. I'm going to a good school this fall and I won't have gigantic loans to worry about for the rest of my life.

If you want to bch about grammar then realize capitalization has its place in sentences too. Or you could just not bch about stupid stuff - whatever. I think brand_182 had it right when he said:
