Easiest ivy to transfer into

If I transfer after two years at Indiana University Honors Program and worked hard for a 4.0, which ivy/top tier school would you think I'd have a chance to be admitted to.

I have a 2270 SAT , 750-800's on 5 SAT II's, 3.4 HS GPA, strong EC's

College GPA: Will try for a 4.0 (2 Years)

I Will take additional credits in college, and get involved. Also develop a relationship with one of my professors.

Schools:

Duke
Columbia
UVA
Georgetown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Amherst
Boston College Honors School
NYU
MIT
Stanford
Michigan

Go to the transfer rates page on this forum and see which is the easiest ivy to transfer into. It's probably Cornell depending on what school you apply to. Duke and Columbia are both single digits acceptance rates as well as MIT and Stanford. Dartmouth is in the very low teens. UVA is really tough out of state. The others are probably not that bad. I mean you have really good credentials, and you should give all these schools a shot.

a 4.0 gives you a chance to transfer to any school.

but reasons can make or break you, I don't think prestige hunting is a preferred reason.

^^ Yes, I agree. It's just a way to see where I stand.

why not transfer after your first year?

bad HS GPA

you have plenty of time.. see how things go

dude, with a 2270, how bad can your gpa be? i think you'll have a shot if you shoot lights out your first year.

Yeah, I would try after one year. There is no reason not to apply to top schools if you get a 4.0 first semester. As for Ivies, they are all difficult and it depends on the year. Yale is notoriously the most difficult (After Pton which doesn't accept transfers). Brown, Dartmouth, and Columbia are very competitive. Penn and Cornell are probably the easiest among the Ivies, but still very difficult.

My advice is also to look at some schools that are more transfer friendly. Rice, Northwestern, WashU, Georgetown, UNC, Michigan, Chicago, UCLA, and Cal are all less difficult when compared to first year admissions.

I forgot to mention Penn. Pretty much Stanford, Upenn, NU, Duke, and Cornell are the school's I'ld kill for. I may re-take SAT's for 2300+. Do you think I'll get into one ivy?

I had a 3.4 HS GPA and got into an Ivy. You never know what's going to happen for sure. I got rejected by the easier Ivy I applied to and accepted to one I wasn't even expecting to get into.

which one out of curiosity?

i'd have to say that cornell is the easiest to transfer into.

i don't like the "spin the wheel and i'll take the ivy i get" thought process. pick a school you really want to go to, man.

yeah, ndfreak is right. i got rejected by cornell CAS but im actually glad. I got into Brown and it's my type of place for sure. The admissions people probably saw that.

Cornell CAS accepts less than 10% of transfers
It would be easier at Brown or UPenn, even Dartmouth

neg on the dartmouth this year...or for community college ppl

I also applied to another college at Cornell since you can do that. Rejected there too.

renix, do you just to check two college boxes for cornell? i never noticed that option

yeah, it was on the supplement buried in there.

ok cool (i will be applying next year)
i guess ill try cas and human ecology (hehe)
maybe hotel school instead of HE?
what was your 2nd one, ILR or CALS?
