Easiest Ivy for Transfer

What is the easiest ivy to transfer to. What stats would one need to have a good shot from a top 10 LAC. Thanks.

Cornell would be the easiest Ivy transfer...

erggh... what's up with the misconception that cornell is the easiest?

It depends on the school within cornell you are applying too.

here's the stat for cornell's individual schools

agri & life sciences- 53%
Architecture- 18%
Arts & science- 17%
engineering- 38%
hotel-23%
ecology- 44%
industrial- 63%

it depends greatly on the college which you are planning to apply too.

In each case, you won't have it easy. Cornell will probably be your best bet, then UPenn, then Brown or Dartmouth

but like hnbui said...it all depends on the school in which you're wanting to transfer.

Princeton isn't doing transfers at the moment so that cancels one, Harvard Columbia, Yale, and Stanford are relatively difficult to get in to....but they all emphasize on different aspects alot more.

Hnbui, that is for first-years. Overall, largely due to its size and the natural attrition that creates, Cornell is by far the easiest. After this is Penn, then Brown, then Dartmouth/ Columbia depending on the year. Harvard/ Yale is VERY difficult for transfers.

If you just want to transfer to a prestigous institution...i'd highly recommend Rice University in Texas...the campus is GORGEOUS and i think it may rank higher than Cornell?

i believe cornell is ranked higher? maybe i'm not too sure..

but yeah.. Rice is wonderful. If i wanted to stay in the south i would have applied there freshmen and transfer admissions.

Cornell does seem like one of the easier ivys but i would never ever want to go there.

if i were you, i would look at each school a little more specifically because they're all so incredibly different...otherwise you might make your life hell.

alot of people on these boards have extensive knowledge about each ivy... so once you find out a couple that are good for you, i'm sure you'll find this board even more helpful.

good luck!

Prestigious or not, I would choose Rice in a heart-beat.

cornell probably, but they don't call it CORNHELL for nothing.

::shudders::

here's usnews's data for the ivies:

columbia- 8.4%
Cornell- i've listed the acceptance % above already
yale- 4.9%
