Easiest Major

Just wondering, what's the easiest major to get admission into at UC Berkeley, what about other UC's....Any help appreciated....Thanks!

religion study

women's studies

I see...right now I'm a junior in HS with a 3.5 gpa and 1400 on the old S.A.T, and a few Ap classes. I still have to take my sat 2's and I figured that if I got rejected from UC Berkeley, I can attend a jc (Chabot, Foothill, or DeAnza) and always transfer in...Hopefully I'll make it into a easy major...The thing is that I want to go to med school, and all they require is a good score on the mcat and the required science classes...the major doesn't matter....

um...business, psychology...

business and psychology?
are you being sarcastic? :D

I'm not sure about business...but, my uncle tell's me that Psychology is a easy major, I wonder if he's saying that, because he has a ph.D in it. lol, I still have a lot of time to decide...I wish I get into UC Berkeley

well, psychology is an easy major i think
but it is very competitive

hmm...sociology?????

I see, any major is ok with me as long as I get into UCB.....any other easy majors to get admission to? ^=^

Manjot, whatever you end up majoring in, just keep in mind that if it ends up being terribly easy, it might hurt you in the long run, especially if you're considering med school.

Also, if you do transfer to Berkeley, are you planning to stay in that major or change it to something med-related? The reason I ask is that if you do plan on changing your major, you might fall behind, especially if it's something like bio or chemistry. That is, if Berkeley will allow you to change at all (not sure).

If I get in, I will end up majoring in whatever the subject is. As far as med school, I will take all of the required classes as well as classes provided by Princeton and all of that. Recent studies have shown that med school acceptance is a little higher for non-science realted majors than science related majors. The top two non-science majors accepted were English and electrical engineering....Yup, as long as its Berkeley.. Someone also told me that Med schools have a thing for Berkeley students, not sure if thats true though...thanks for the help!

As long as you have a preparation plan :) Good luck with Berkeley!

Thanks a lot! Yea, I hope to transfer in one day. I wonder what cc I should go to though. DeAnza, Foothill, or Chabot. Anyways, if I don't get into UCB, I always have a chance at Davis and Irvine. UC_hopeful, do you have any more info about UCB or just transferring in general. It would be even cooler if I transferred into Johns Hopkins ^=^ I wish, lol...Why can't we have taa's with UCB !!! Oh yea, I'll be posting up a list of classes that I plan on taking at a cc, hopefully ya 'all can help me put them in order. Well, time to get back to hw...Later

Sorry, Manjot. I don't have much info on UCB, but I'm sure if you do a search you'll find PLENTY. As for transferring... uhhh... IGETC, lower divs, and get good grades :D

If I do the IGETC, can I still apply to every uc? sorry for the dumb question....^=^

I would doubt, or at least hope that there isn't an "easiest major." I would think it depends on the presentation of the course material and your interest in it.

Underwater Basket-weaving :)

If I ever run a college, that'll be a major...

Would it really be that easy to weave a basket underwater? I see it presenting several challanges!

I'm not sure about UCB, but for UCLA, those who apply as any major in the college of letters and science, their decision isn't based on what major you applied to because they will just look at everyone in the college of letters and science together.

Manjot, choose De Anza...cuz it has highest number of transfer students to Berkeley and is one of the best CCz. Foothill is also good.
