ill be taking AP Physics I next year. I won’t be able to take AP Bio or AP chem until my senior year…but I really like biology. But the Physics exam covers stuff from both Physics I and II…what should I do?
I think taking SAT physics would be easiest for you because while you would have to learn some topics on your own, you will at least have some foundation to build on from ap phys 1, and the sat physics e am has the most forgiving curve out of the science ones.
I disagree; you would not have to learn some topics on your own, you would need to learn half the topics on your own.
:-< Despite what some kids seem to believe here, AP is not needed to do well on the SAT Subject Test. I’ve had classmates that took these subject tests and did well without AP, and I personally did well on chem without AP. So, I would say chem, given the choice.
Chem SAT 2 has an ok curve. There’s 85 questions (so 42.3 sec per question, no calc), and you need a raw score of at least 80 to get an 800. I got a 770 without taking AP, and the only thing that AP helped me with was speed (I get ~800 in 30 min on practice tests now) and tying up loose ends.
Biology is super easy if you took AP Biology. Just skim through Barron’s and learn some stuff about taxonomy and you’ll be fine.
@imlikeabird2 I think that would be for the Ecology section. Otherwise, there are some really annoying Molecular questions (like Punnet Squares and genetic variability).
