I have no interest in art and I'd like to get the requirement done as soon as possible. Which classes are the easiest, at least in terms of workload? Thanks!

Hello! There are all kinds of ways to fulfill your Arts requirement, and work load varies. You may not like Art, but how about Art History, theatre, or creative writing? I took an amazing creative writing class called ‘Intro to Genres: Writing and Performance’ with Chicago-based writer Megan Stielstra. We wrote about 40 pages of drafts and re-drafts, journal entries and stories over the course of the 10 weeks, but it didn’t feel heavy or difficult. It was the best class I’ve ever taken at UChicago.

I’ve never liked art and was never able to appreciate it, but my friends convinced me to take AP Art History this year. So far its been totally worth it. I don’t know how, maybe it’s the teacher or the lessons, but I found the class to be incredibly interesting. Since all the lessons, for me anyways, are visual on a powerpoint, it’s really different from all my other classes. It also has a good amount of regular european history, which is an added bonus. Right now it’s one of the hardest classes I have, but I have no regrets. Ask around to see how the class is there.
