ebill?

i just got an email saying i can sign up for an ebill account to view and pay bills

its fine if i don't sign up for this, correct? and isn't eft the same thing, so what is the point of ebill? matter of fact, what's the point of eft anddd ebill, if we automatically have a cars account on bearfacts? i'm guessing with cars, you can just see your bills online, but have to pay by snailmail, but with ebill and eft, you can both see and pay your bills via internet?

well i am extremely confused and any clarification would be great

assuming you'll be using a bank account to pay for any college expenses, i would highly suggest both ebill(is this optional?) and eft. ebill allows you to pay for your charges to the CARS account with a given bank account, whereas EFT comes into play with refunds. for example, let's say you receive an ebill via CARS and pay it off through your bank account, yet later the financial aid office receives an outside scholarship check from an organization on your behalf. you then get refunded, via EFT, in the amount of the scholarship check, to your EFT bank account.

i'm not sure if this is the entire purpose of EFT, ebills, CARS, etc, but at least that's how i personally have dealed with the system, as there may be other uses. also, it is not required to pay via snail mail.

so if you don't make an eft account, will you not receive your refunds?

does anyone know for sure if ebill and eft are optional or mandatory?...and cars is something that everyone automatically has, correct?

i believe if you don't make an eft account, they will make any refund checks available for you from the FAO, which you will then have to go by and pick up in person and deposit manually

I'm gonna answer this second-hand because I'm not paying my bills yet, my parents are. . . . My mom said there were several ways you can pay your cars bill, one of them being the ebill (which is how she paid it). Otherwise, you can pay in person, by snailmail, or by an online service you have. The processing time is different for each, of course. My mom said they DON'T accept credit cards, which UCLA does, to pay these fees, otherwise she would have used her credit card and gotten mileage (her friend at works pays his son's fees at UCLA this way and gets mileage points).

Hope this explanation helps. . . .
